We are committed to the Planet

At the A.C.T. Performing Arts Group, we have a non-negotiable policy to reuse material and promote the use of recyclable materials for our props, stages, costumes, and stationeries. and to engage deprived communities. Our Performing Art group procures costumes from self-help community groups in India. About 80% of the carpentry used for the stage sets is made from reused and engineered wood.

A.C.T Performing Arts Group works under the banner of and as an integral part of Ankur DFW, a 501c3 Registered Non-Profit Organization of North Texas.

We engage communities through various performing arts programs, and events throughout the year, with ACT~ON as its annual flagship event.

ACT~ON (Action with a missing 'I' as we believe in 'we', 'us', and 'our') is an annual celebration of communities, organized and supported by Ankur DFW.

The primary focus areas of ACT~ON as an event, and A.C.T. Performing Arts Group as well as Ankur DFW, as its organizers are to promote:

Youth Engagement
Sustainable Communities
Art - Culture - Theater
Revival of South Asian performing art, folk music, and dance forms
Imparting education on histories of communities through story-telling
Diversity and Gender Equality
Greener Tomorrow

We pledge to 1) Strengthen efforts to protect and safeguard the cultural and natural heritage - UNSDG Goal 11, and 2) Promote diversity and gender equality through art and culture - UNSDG Goal 5.
