'BaarBela' is a period melodrama in Bengali, and a visual saga reflecting a nail-biting story of betrayal, revenge, and soceital conflicts, from the Pala era of 10th century CE. The play is an original creation but draws inspirations from few characters of the 'Dharma Mangal' at places.

The plot evolves around a team of YouTubers who run a travel channel set to explore unknown pockets of Bengal, and how they get drawn into a time in past when the Palas were at their peak in Gauda, but subaltern 'Radh' resistance began snowballing into an outcome they could barely imagine.

A few characters or events may bear some resemblances with the Mangal Kavya literature, especially the Dharma Mangal. We acknowledge these resemblances as nspirations drawn from the rich heritage of indigenous Bengali literature.
